Edmonton Green Shopping Centre scoop second award win

30th October 2020

A second award win is being celebrated at Edmonton Green Shopping Centre after the management team triumphed at this years’ Estates Gazette Awards.

The team were up against 12 other shortlisted organisations for the EG Superhero Award, which was created especially for this year to recognise those individuals and companies that went above and beyond during the coronavirus pandemic to help those that really needed support.

During lockdown, Edmonton Green reached out to more than 20 community groups, making donations not only to those directly in need but also to those organisations that exist to help the area’s most vulnerable.

The 8-strong panel of judges referenced the team’s efforts to support a significant number of people at an extremely difficult time in an already underprivileged area.

Sabri Marsaoui, Asset Director at Edmonton Green, said: “I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. I am so incredibly proud of the amazing team we have at Edmonton Green Shopping Centre.

“Never before has it been so important for landlords and property managers to work collaboratively in the interests of their local communities.

“We have an extremely hands-on approach, which enables the team to think, decide and act quickly, and their dynamic response to the pace of change as the extent of the Covid-19 pandemic unravelled meant they remained ahead of the game.”

This work has already earned the team recognition within the industry, winning the accolade of “High Street Heroes” by REVO, the retail property industry body.

The news also comes just two weeks after the team scooped an award win for one of the most prestige facilities management accolades in the industry – the IWFM Impact Awards.

Marie Kyriacou-Edwards, Operations Manager at Edmonton Green, said: “To win this award means everything to our team. To say that 2020 has been a tough year would be an understatement. But what has been tough for us, has been unbearable for others.

“Knowing that our efforts during the pandemic have had a direct positive effect on so many members of our local community is such a fantastic feeling.

“We will long continue our efforts to support the people of Edmonton Green and put them at the heart of everything we do.”
