Business Crime Reduction Partnership [BCRP] Project Manager for Safer Edmonton and Safer Walthamstow

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Safer Business Network as BCRP Project Manager for our Safer Edmonton and Safer Walthamstow partnerships.

Safer Business Network is a membership organisation which operates a number of Business Crime Reduction Partnerships [BCRPs] across ten London Boroughs and works closely with the Metropolitan Police Service, local authorities, Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), and other stakeholders, to address issues of business crime and anti-social behaviour in both the day-time and night-time economies.

You will support and drive the reduction of business crime in Edmonton and Walthamstow through the management and development of our two Business Crime Reduction Partnerships (BCRP). These partnerships are Community BCRPs, currently funded by the Metropolitan Police Business Crime Hub, with a specific focus on tackling violent crime. Positive communication and interface with businesses is essential to the success of this role.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and managing both projects for Safer Business Network;
  • Building partnerships and networks with the local police and the local authorities in Edmonton and Walthamstow;
  • Building excellent relationships with the business community (currently 50 businesses in each area), encouraging the reporting of crime, collating and analysing criminal intelligence, and supporting them in taking action against key offenders in partnership with local police neighbourhood teams and the local authority;
  • Managing the Safer Edmonton and Safer Walthamstow Steering Groups, which meet quarterly, and implementing agreed priorities and objectives;
  • Recruiting new members and growing the partnerships;
  • Management of the SentrySIS secure intelligence platform and messaging app;
  • Managing the delivery of an exclusion notice scheme for repeat offenders;
  • Engagement in local Council and Police forums as appropriate;
  • Producing regular newsletter and updates for businesses and partners;
  • Delivering excellent customer service to members, dealing with queries promptly and effectively, and championing local business concerns with the police, local authorities and other relevant agencies;
  • Organising meetings and events to support members and the work of the BCRP;
  • Identifying and delivering innovative solutions to reducing crime and disorder as appropriate;
  • Ongoing evaluation of impact and progress in collaboration with the Business Crime Hub;
  • Being part of the Safer Business Network Senior Management Team

This is a ‘hands on’ job, requiring excellent communication skills, initiative, a pro-active, collaborative and enthusiastic approach.  You will have a proven track record of delivering business development, stakeholder management, and customer service.  Project management experience is also desirable.

Safer Business Network offers a flexible working environment, 33 days per annum including 8 public holidays, enrolment in the NEST pension scheme with compulsory contributions from employee and the Company and an interest free loan for an annual travel ticket.

To apply, please send your CV and a covering letter (of no more than two sides of A4, outlining why you are interested in the role and how your experience meets the requirements set out in the Job Description), to Rita King, Joint CEO, at rita.king@saferbusiness.org.uk by 5pm on Monday 19th July 2021.
