24th November 2020

Edmonton Green Shopping Centre has created a new role to aid in improving and maintaining effective relationships with on-site tenants, to identify and drive forward new retail opportunities and to improve the overall customer experience.

Rebecca Bird has taken up the challenge and joins the team as Retail Manager from The Mall Walthamstow, where she spent eight years working through various roles before holding position of both marketing manager, and then general manager for past two years. Rebecca has a wealth of retail management experience having held previous management roles within Toys R Us, Gap and Specsavers.

This week Rebecca scooped Centre “Manager of the Year” in the 2020 Sceptre Awards, the ‘Oscars’ of the retail industry. Rebecca won the award for her work as centre manager at the Mall Walthamstow.

Rebecca said: “I am delighted to be joining the fantastic team at Edmonton Green and it’s a great time to be coming on board with the launch of Christmas and working alongside our marketing team to deliver a series of campaigns across the festive season”.

“Edmonton Green is such a vibrant area full of fantastic characters. I’m excited about joining a centre full of so much potential and really get ingrained within the community and help get Edmonton Green on the map.”

As part of Rebecca’s role, she will also be engaging and working collaboratively with the key stakeholders, the residents who live on site, and the local community.

Sabri Marsaoui, Asset Director at Edmonton Green, said: “We are extremely excited that Rebecca has joined us at Edmonton Green. There is no doubt that her knowledge and experience will provide an additional dimension to the management team.

“With over 14 years’ experience working within the retail and shopping centre sector we are really looking forward to seeing what new initiatives Rebecca can bring to help us move the Centre forward”.

“Rebecca will spend a considerable amount of her time liaising with our occupiers and has been tasked with heading up our marketing campaigns alongside our retained consultants.

“Rebecca will also be taking the lead on all community-based initiatives ensuring we remain connected with our local partners, and the amazing community groups we have across the Borough.”
