Dementia Friendly
Edmonton Green Shopping Centre is now an approved member of the Enfield Dementia Alliance. This means we have been recognised by the Alzheimer’s Society as working towards becoming a dementia-friendly community.
A dementia-friendly community is a city, town or village where people with dementia are understood, respected and supported. In a dementia-friendly community people will be aware of and understand dementia, so that people with dementia can continue to live in the way they want to and in the community they choose.
What we have done so far
- To date we have had the management team take part in a dementia friend workshop.
- Three members of the team have signed up to become dementia friends.
- Shared information with our retailers and wider business
- Developed a dementia friendly map
Our dementia pledge is to show our commitment to developing our employees’ understanding of dementia and continuing to adapt and improve the service we provide to meet the needs of our customers and community living with dementia.
